Dan Campbell is the American head coach of the Detroit Lions of the National Football League and a former tight end in American football. He was born on April 13, 1976, in the United States.

As a player, he was drafted in 1999 by the New York Giants and played there from 1999 to 2002. He joined the Dallas Cowboys in 2003. Three years on, Dan joined the Detroit Lions for three years before crossing over to the New Orleans Saints in 2009, where he retired.
From 2016 to 2020, he was the New Orleans Saints’ assistant head coach and tight ends coach. From 2010 to 2015, he was an assistant coach for the Miami Dolphins, most recently as interim head coach and tight ends coach.
